Rationale
The hypothesis of this assignment will address and evaluate the issues and concerns as it relates to the increase and decrease of juvenile crime within the past five years. The team will also focus the serious nature of criminal juvenile acts. Juvenile crime is a result of juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency can be seen as illegal or antisocial behavior patterns shown by adolescents or children. According to Einstein Law (2008) the office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention compiles various arrest data and information that law enforcement officials provide every year, which creates reports that examine the statistics, rates, and trends of criminal juvenile activity. Publishing comprehensive studies is done every four years as a part of the reports pertaining to Victims National Report Series and Juvenile Offenders. Arrest statistics are useful in these studies for a comparison of general trends.
The rationale of the hypothesis of juvenile crime will be the determining factor in association with the serious nature of these crimes, which can be subdivided into various categories. Individual risk factors that contribute to the act of offending links to one’s behavioral or psychological factors, which in turn includes impulsiveness, intelligence, and inability. As one further examines juvenile crime and its serious nature, one can conclude the rational choice expresses the causes that lies within individual offenders rather than those in an individual external environment. Through research one can view that nationally juvenile crime was on a decrease from 1991 to 1999. The recordings were in comparison to the rate in 1980 to 1984. The most current decrease in crime lasted longer than in the past.
