Climate Change

Climate change is refers to the changes in global climate which can cause increased average global temperature. Earth’s climate temperature is determined by natural causes; sun’s rays reaching earth and reflectivity of surface (melting of ice-caps). Human causes are also a factor. The human race has contributed to the greenhouse effect. The burning of fossil fuels has generated carbon dioxide emissions which has increased the temperature immensely. This high temperature has implications, a disastrous domino effect. The melting of glaciers, rise of sea levels, increased evaporation and destabilization of local climate, increased CO2 level and acidification of sea water are all extreme effects that harm the Earth and the human population tremendously.
High temperatures are at fault for a raise in heat-related deaths and illness, rising sea levels and an increase in storm intensity. Scientists believe that if heat-trapping carbon emissions are not reduced, standard surface temperatures could increase significantly by 3 to 10°F by the end of the century. One degree looks insignificant, but an increase of 1°F found in one area would mean a 12°F found in others. A reported 70,000 died in Europe from an Extreme heat wave in the summer of 2003. Scientists believe that 10% to a future increasing 50% of land mass on Earth will be in danger of vegetation shifts by the end of the first half of the this century. Woodlands that were used for making houses and fuel for cooking would be diminished. These vegetation changes would disrupt large ecosystems which would exterminate endangered species and reduce the supply of water for people. Changing temperatures are causing a vegetation shift which affects the nature of our world, causing some species to be left without a sustainable habitat. Also, similarly like Beijing, the city’s atmosphere is clouded with polluted air which will only get worse. The pollution in the air around the world will also get worse affecting health....
