The Unforgettable Day

It was a cold glum day in January. It felt like any other day, but today is the day that we play Clovis for the Border Conference Championship. I have been waiting for this game ever since the last time we played. The last time we played we barely pulled out the victory. The game went to overtime. We were up by two with three seconds left and they had the ball. So they threw it in and get a shot off before the buzzer. My heart stopped until the ball hit the back of the rim and came out. The crowd was going crazy.
Now it’s time for round two, but this time it’s for something much bigger. It’s for the championship, but not only that it is to call yourself the best of the best. So first I had to go to school, and that day felt like the longest day of school that has ever been. Then seventh period basketball comes around. So now it’s time to get suited up and get ready to warm-up. So I start to warm up and I can’t miss so now I know that this will be a good game.
Now it’s time to start the game. My team and I are pumped and ready to get a win. So we win the jump and score right away. The game is close throughout the whole game. There is five seconds left in the game and coach calls a timeout. We talk it over and make up a great play that we think can win us the game. We run the play to perfection and I made the game winning shot. All Clovis could do is look in despair as the shot goes through the net.The crowd was going crazy and started to rush the floor. We had a massive celebration that all Clovis could do is watch and not participate in. I couldn’t even here myself think that’s how loud it was.
Then after it was all said and done we were the champs and no one could take that from us. We had proven to everyone and to ourselves that we were the best of the best and that we are going to stay that way till we graduate. And this will be with me for the rest of my life.
