Ethical behavior is acting in ways that are consistent with what society and individuals think are good values. Coca-Cola has a “Code of Business Conduct” which is a guide that the company requires its employees and directors to comply with that require integrity and honesty with all situations. The code is put together by the ethics and compliance committee, which also take care of responsibility for education, consultation, monitoring and assessment related to the code of conduct that the company has. The associates associated with the company worldwide are required to take classes pertaining to ethics. The company monitors and audits the business regularly. In 2008 Coca-Cola revised the code to improve its effectiveness. To continue with their ethical training, the company also offers online training to associates with computers that are provided to them by the company. The training discusses issues relating to ethics and compliance. Associates that are currently working for Coca-Cola must receive the training every three years, while new associates receive training upon hire. “In 2010, approximately 22,000 employees (management and non-management) certified their compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and the Company's anti-bribery requirements. In addition to a number of optional training courses on various topics, associates are requested to participate in ethics training on an annual basis, resulting in an average of 60 minutes of ethics training per associate per year”(The Coca-Cola Company). Managers should always model good behavior, such as making sure that the people that you supervise understand their responsibilities, make sure that you give the opportunity to discuss the code, create an environment that your employees feel comfortable in and feel as if they could come to you if there is ever a problem.
