BASKETBALL VERSUS VOLLEYBALL
Have you ever thought what is the real meaning of Sport? Absolutely many people seem not to be aware of it. Sport is a organized physical activity and skill in which a individual or team competes against one another for pleasure but if it is done to make money, it shouldn't be called Sport. Sports are beneficial in many ways as it is good for health physically and mentally. It helps to get rid of toxins from the body and makes person feel relaxed and free from depression. There are different types of sports which are played in different ways accordingly, Basketball and Volleyball are one of them. All sports are enjoyable, but there are many things that make every sport alike and different from each other. Basketball and Volleyball both are very popular sports but have many differences from which three are history of the game, technique of the game and rules of the game.
To begin with, the history of the Basketball and Volleyball is different from each other as the founder of the basketball was James Naismith, whereas the Volleyball was invented by William G Morgan. James Naismith was a hardworking athlete who had the ability to perform very excellently in many sports He invented an indoor game which was suited to the rectangular room and was named as Basketball. It was the combination of Soccer, Hockey, Baseball and Football. This game was played with soccer ball and there were no special ball to play. The ball was bounced and passed from one person to another to put it in the basket which was hung on the both sides of the room. On the other hand, Morgan created the game of Volleyball called Mintonette, was an outdoor game and invented four year before basketball. This game was a mixture of Basketball, Tennis, Baseball and Handball. The height of first volleyball net was only 6'6".Volleyball was played in the Pan American Games in 1955 for the first time.
