Coffin Under the Bed

Kate decides to ask her co-worker Bill on what to do in this confusing situation. She opens the door, pulls Bill inside and then sticks her head out of the door to look if someone was watching her. Confused Bill asks, "What is going on?" Kate quickly rushes up the stairs to show him the hidden coffin. As they go through the bedroom door, she pulls the cover over it and it then becomes vividly clear to Bill why Kate has been acting so erratic lately. Bizarrely, Bill does not seem phased about the presence of the coffin, instead he advises her to compose herself and to go to work. He reassures her that they will deal with it when they return, but for now if she does not show up for work people may become suspicious about her absence.
The entire way to work Kate was in a haze as if she was trying to wake up from a bad dream. She felt as though she was trapped in some sort of atrocious nightmare in which the only way to awake from was to deal with this situation at hand. The only way Kate remained tranquil was the result of a trustworthy bond that her and Bill have shared throughout their three year employment together.
While at work, Kate was on another planet, she could barely focus on her duties and the other employees were beginning to detect that something was irritating her. Her usual happy, go lucky, enthusiastic self was not present in her demeanor. Kate continued to picture the poor girl’s face, wondering who would do such a thing and why?
As the work day finally wound down, she began looking for Bill at his desk but could not locate him. Kate could not imagine where he would have disappeared to at a time like this! In turn, she asks Amanda, a fellow co-worker, if she has seen him. Instead of an answer, Amanda gave Kate a look of deep confusion and then asked, “Kate, Bill who? Are you okay?” In a state of shock, Kate becomes perplexed and explains, "Bill, Bill, we have worked with him for three years. You can't be serious."...
