IPL IS EVERYTHING BUT CRICKET

The IPL is called the fantastic phenomenon of the decade . It has, from its inception generated a sizable amount of excitement . But IPL is all moolah and hardly any game . It is an entirely new and novel form of entertainment.

The IPL was the brainwave of Lalit Modi . Energetic, young and eager to attain new heights of entertainment, Lalit Modi concocted a cricket league which would involve players from many nations . Cashing on the then widely popular 20-20 format, IPL was born . It was voraciously popular in its first edition . Perhaps only the first edition was about cricket . Overeager to please the audience , Lalit Modi introduced cheerleaders to please the common man . The security concerns forced IPL-2 out of India to South Africa . Seemingly then the problems started . The best teams were losing and the worst teams were winning . The whole tournament table seemed to be orchestrated by Lalit Modi and his high roller official friends . The tournament seized to be a game and turned to pure entertainment for followers . Several teams introduced stars such as Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and other celebrities to enthrall the audiences and the IPL soon edged out India's popular soaps in viewership by the people . Lalit Modi began inflating his grandiose plans to introduce more and more star players . The IPL always involved exorbitant amounts of money in fees and pay,entertainment etc . The team hold lavish after match parties which cream of the town attend . It no longer matters who wins . The whole league is more like an extended entertainment festival . The cricket matches are screened in movie theaters. Imagine! what IPL has made of a game - a money producing and gulping monster .
