Case Assignment
In order for employees to adapt to an ever-changing work environment, they must be willing to learn to change along with their job. It’s the organizations job to ensure that they find ways to assist their employee in making those necessary changes. It all becomes easier to accomplish if they try to incorporate ways that will incorporate the learning styles of their employees. So the question would be how do they transform individual learning into organizational learning?
Individual learning is defined as the capacity to build knowledge through individual reflection about external stimuli and sources, and through the personal re-elaboration of individual knowledge and experience in light of interaction with others and the environment. This capacity is demanded of practically everyone.  All learning takes place within an individual, whether within a group or not.
The notion of Organizational Learning (OL) has become very prominent in the near past. Managers see OL as a powerful tool to improve the performance of an organization. Thus, it is not only the scholars of organization studies who are interested in the phenomenon of OL but also the practitioners who have to deal with the subject of OL. The field of organizational learning explores ways to design organizations so that they fulfill their function effectively, encourage people to reach their full potential, and, at the same time, help the world to be a better place.
In an attempt to better the production of their corporation IBM has made an attempt to merge the concepts of individual and organizational learning. To maximize business effectiveness for job-related competencies, five strategic sectors have been targeted for significant learning transformation: sales, leadership and management, employee development, IT training and training to support business partnerships....
