Scenario 1
Sarah's Flower Designs is a growing business with growing needs for customer lists and information storage. Because of this the business needs to obtain at least one new desktop computer with stronger memory and faster processing speeds than offered in the older model they have now, which must be replaced. If there are budget constraints Sarah and Mark can share one desktop computer. However, if funds permit, it would be best for Sarah and Mark to each have their own desktop computer. The use of two separate desktop computers would allow both Sarah and Mark to work on whatever they need to do at the same time, rather than creating a situation where one of them is waiting to use the computer. This can save time and improve efficiency. Sarah's Flower Designs can permit Kim to have information about customer addresses and delivery instructions simply by printing that information out onto paper from the new desktop computers, which for a small business that must generally carefully budget for expenditure, may provide a good solution. This will work if there is not a constant need to alert Kim to changes or other matters while she is out. However, if real-time changes must be provided to Kim or other demands or desires must be fulfilled, Sarah's Flower Designs should provide Kim with a handheld computer. While a laptop would also meet Kim's needs, the handheld would be better because of its small size and the ease of using it while driving.
