I’ve graduated from University of Isfahan, and I am applying for admission to the construction Management Masters Degree Program at the University of XXX.
My interest in civil engineering has started when I was in the high school. Besides my interest, my father was one of the local managers of the National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company in Isfahan Provence in Iran. He studied Civil-water resource- Engineering and he talked about his projects at home and explained his responsibilities at work.
Also, my sister’s husband studied structural engineering and he was a supervisor of a big company. Sometimes, I went with him to his constructing projects and visited his work closely. Thus, I choose civil engineering at the university for my degree. Every year study makes me sure of my decision. Since I attend the university, I’ve gained some experiences.
First of all, I attended the concrete competition at university with 3 of my friends. Our target was making a concrete sample with special features, such as high resistance, light weight, economic cost, and etc. We did a lot of experiments on different samples, changed the kind of materials and optimize the portion of materials to reach better results. After the competition, all groups shared their experiences and collected them as a journal for next-year students.
Second, we designed and analyzed concrete frame and steel frame of 6 floors building as final projects in my BSc. I have used 3 different programs to complete my project: Auto cad® for design, and ETABS and SAFE for analysis.
Third, I did a class project, in our contract management class, that I should find and investigate associated problems in project like human resource problems, limited budget and time managing. Then try to optimize the time, cost, and quality. I have gradually decided to continue my education in construction management.
After my graduation, I worked in a textile company as a process manager assistant for 1 year. Our team...
