Driving through the freshly painted gatehouse on the long forgotten tracks of the steam driven excavators. Down a long narrow twisted path that had been freshly paved is a breath taking County Park. It has everything from a large swimming quarry with hundred foot cliffs that engulf the whole lake to a campground built to satisfy the whole family to a little fishing pond that in the end isn’t so little but is just for the guys.
When you first enter this quaint county park you come across a campground with a whole array of activities for the whole family to do. From the run of the mill camp store to the extravagant eighteen whole put putt course. If put putt isn’t your cup of tea or you children are to young to enjoy it then there is a five star playground. With everything from a four-story jungle gym to a swing set with enough swings that you will never have to wait again. On the other hand if you are to that age where you really have no desire to play and you just want to relax around the fire the campgrounds provides a very nice fire containment unit along with a recycled plastic picnic table that you can fit the extended family at.
If you men and some women get tired of spending time with the kids take them to their grandparents home and make your way down to a quaint little fishing whole. This is an eight-acre pond that ranges from ankle deep to a depth where you might think the loch ness monster spends his summer. The fishing whole is filled with a whole array of fish for you to catch. Whether you are an extreme angler or a weekend warrior you can fish for gar in the shallow flats. They put up a fight almost as good as a macho shark in the keys of Florida or you can troll on over to the rocky bottoms by the massive cliff that runs along one border of the lake to have a blast and catch some mammoth large mouth bass.
