Creativity is any act, idea, or product that changes an existing domain or that transforms an existing domain into a new one. What counts is whether the novelty he or she produces is accepted for inclusion in the domain. The experimenter uses anagrams to test the creativity of the subjects involved. Anagram is the transposing of the letters of a word or group of words to produce other words using all the original letters exactly once.
The main objective of this experiment is to measure the flexibility, novelty and originality thru response production of a series of letters. For the first part of the experiment, the experimenter presents the anagrams and asks the subject to form as many words as possible with a minimum of 2-letter word. The subject has 4 minutes time limit to think of possible words she can form. For the second part, the experimenter presents anagrams but this time, as words. The task of the subject is to form again as many words as possible from these within a limit time of 4 minutes. Solving anagrams has been conceptualized as a two-stage process, involving letter rearrangement and then the matching of the rearrangement with a word accessed from memory. The researcher concludes that the creativity of a person was measured on...
