Crime Lords

Crime Lords

CRIME LORDS Criminals such Escobar and Capone had different live styles and goals during their careers. While Capone started his crime life with felonies such smuggling and bootlegging liquor during the American Prohibition era, Escobar started stealing cars at Medellin before he moved to the cocaine business, which was more worthy. Capone acquired his power and wealth after he inherited the direction of the gang from Jonny Torino, his childhood mentor. As a contrast, Escobar created his own mafia group and he started to open his way in the drug business by killing important dealers such as Fabio Restrepo. Another difference between them is that Escobar had a public career as deputy representative of the Colombian congress while Capone just decided to be a criminal all his life. In spite of the crimes they committed, both of them finished their crime lives in different ways. Capone was caught by the FBI due to tax evasion and he was sentenced to 11 years of prison. He also paid fines that were above the sum of 80 000 USD. On the other hand, the war against Escobar ended when the “Bloque de Busqueda” of the Colombian police found him using triangulation technology provided by the US government. Escobar was localized at a mid class neighborhood in Medellin. When he tried to escape by the roof he was shot by a police officer. Some versions declare that he committed suicide after he was shot and there was nothing else to do. Both crime lords had absolute power while they were in the top of their criminal careers but they paid their errors with prison and death.
