There are many critical issues that arise in organizations today. These issues must involve the organization staff in one way or another, such a, retention, development, stability and safety issues. Therefore, upwardly mobile, successful organizations will realize that involvement of human resource professionals is vital to a successful resolution of these issues. The human resources field is constantly changing and growing. Globalization, technology and innovations are constantly being implemented. The following paper will analyze and illustrate some of the critical issues organizations have and the role of human resources in there solutions.
Planned and Unplanned Change
According to an article titled Change Management “It is inevitable they organizations will encounter changing conditions that are powerless to control.” (SBC.com, 2007) Understanding how to adapt to change is a fundamental element to any organization. Organization’s that successfully manages change are more likely to thrive. (SBC.com, 2007)
Human resources is a significant ingredient of successful change management. There are times when changes are brought about by situations that occur within the organizations and are unexpected. These unplanned changes consist of circumstances that must be evaluated quickly in order to find a way to move forward with a positive resolution. (SBC.com, 2007) Planned changes are not as complicated as unplanned change mainly because they are deliberate and expected. (Free Management Library, 2007) Human Resource professionals have a full understanding the “people side” of change management. HR can provide information and feedback on the legal aspects, employees’ position and the effects n the company as a whole. Human resource can also make suggestions regarding the best way role out a new process to the employees, and play a large role in making necessary changes as smooth as possible....
