Culture and Beliefs

Are you aware that without the numerous, diverse cultures that exist around the world; yours would suggest nothing? This question was formed around the quote said by Johann Wolfgang Goethe- “Those who know nothing of foreign languages, know nothing of their own.” Culture is described as your beliefs, the beliefs of others, and the way someone carries out these beliefs.
Everyone has beliefs, it is what classifies someone. Some people believe that laughing makes you healthier. This may or may not be true to others; but it characterizes the person who believes it. In addition, you can encompass a thought that no one else believes in. Whether you feel unenthusiastic or proud, you know that that is what you deem and you have the aptitude to recognize that it is essential to you.
Although stated previously, it is important, not only to understand your own culture, beliefs, and language, but as well to decipher others. Von Goethe’s quote may cause one believe that it makes no sense. Nonetheless, to understand yourself, you should be aware of what you could become or in any case, what else subsists. Matthew Arnold stated- “Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit.” Not many people that exist would rebel against such an act.
Many people believe that to have a relationship with God, you have to attend church. This is something I do not believe in. If one can talk to God every night and have an affiliation with him at the same time; then why would there be a need to devote oneself to church every Sunday. This is an example of how I would carry out my culture and beliefs. Yet others find it necessary to be present every single sermon. It is all about your perspective.
