After all who cares? There is always 99999999+ more….

Guess what I am talking about? Yes you know it!! the numbers give away the story… for marketers it’s the most happening place out there, MNC’s are willing to spend billions to setup shop here.. When the clouds of recession gathers storm in the west it is a ray of hope and the next growth engine which will drive their top & bottom lines... The bean counters take a back seat here, the sales guys calls the shots, investment is the buzzword... and the strategists + lobbyists have a ball…

CEO’s talk about Year on Year growth, ROI & economies of scale are achieved at breakneck speed... Yes I’m talking about India, with a GDP growth rate of 9% plus it is the hottest market out there, the actors are on stage, battle lines have been drawn... be it Coke vs Pepsi, Dell vs HP, Unilever vs P&G, McDonalds vs KFC … India has come a long way from being known for the land of Snake charmers, Elephants, Yogis & much more...

Since the current PM Manmohan Singh & the late PV Narasimha Rao opened the Indian economic floodgate in the early 90’s the country has grown at a lightning pace in all major sectors. Life has been good for most of us… Membership in the Great Indian Middle class is swelling day by day… Sensex has seen its up’s & downs, Inflation maybe rocketing but still the Indian growth story is going strong as ever…

All said & done, Roses are Red & Violets are blue & Indians are still in queue… Wherever you go whatever you do you are in queue… be it a Vodafone store or Airtel Customer Care centre it is all the same… It is estimated that an average Indian spends a good amount of his productive time standing in queues in places like Banks, Govt Offices, and Customer Care Centers etc... Add to it the time that we spend on calling various Customer Care help lines and it completes a picture of utter chaos when it comes to servicing a customer... I’m sure that most of us have had a harrowing time getting some service...
