1.1 Describe the factors to take into account when planning healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments and services
There are a number of factors to consider when planning a healthy and safe indoor and outdoor activity. The main thing I consider in my setting is the duty of care, my main priority is to assess how safe the children are going to be. I have planned several activities in my setting with a group of children indoor and outdoor and before implementing my plan I would inspect the area to check if the surroundings are safe, if we are going outside I always check the gates to the garden are closed, the equipment we are going to be using is safe, for example if we get the go karts out sometimes they may not be suitable in certain weather conditions so I have to take into account has it been raining? Would the brakes work if the ground was slippery? Also in my class we have 3 year groups in so there is quite a big age gap between the youngest children and the oldest, I have to make sure that the activity we are doing is age appropriate. Within the class there is also a huge difference in abilities, I have to...
