Dad a Story

My dad took an enormousstep that changed our lives forever. Fourteen years ago we lived in Saudi Arabia. My dad was an accountant in Oil Company. One day while I was playing with Ninja Turtles action figures with my brother in my room, my dad interrupted me. “Hey guys we have something to tell you. Mom and I decided to move to America so that you boys could have your education there. My parents were expecting a four-year old to understand how big of a step the parents have decided our education. I did not respond and went back to playing. Living in Saudi Arabia for the first couple years of my life, I had never imagined moving to the United States of America. The day of the move arrived. At that time, I did not realize how difficult it was for my father to leave behind his friends and colleagues. He had lived and worked with these same people for over seventeen years. A little more than half of our possessions were left behind because we couldn’t take everything overseas: my dad’s collections of books and videos, my mom’s cookware, and my toys. Everyone knows that children become much attached to their toys, however not everyone understands how adults feel when they leave behind their unforgettable memories. My dad has many wonderful characteristics. He is caring, funny, patient, smart, budgeted, and very responsible. His hair is black and real thick everywhere. His face is smooth and brown with a mustache like an old pirate. He wears his eyeglasses all the time, even to read his morning paper. He is the type of person who wants to have everything done on time and in the best possible manner. Moving into a new neighborhood was not easy for my father. He had to get adjusted with the new lifestyle and practically start a new life. My parents did not quite understand the lifestyle that everyone else was living.
