Short Dance Essay
This a short 6 paragraph essay on the dance unit. I will be talking about 4 main topics. First topic will be about the knowledge that I have learned throughout this unit. Second topic is about my thoughts and feelings about this sport. Third topic is about good nutrition for the dancers. Last topic I will be discussing is why cooling down is important in dance.
I’ve learned how to do 5 jazz steps and learned how to do them. For example a ball change is a very fast transfer of weight from one foot to the other foot. Also I learned how to do the jazz square. The jazz square is a 4 step movement in a pattern of a square. I learned how to chasse which is when one foot follows the other in a repeated movement. Usually used before a jump. I also learned some jumps. The axel jump is a full rotation is the air. Finally I learned the leap. A leap is when you do the splits in the air and land on the opposite foot you jump off. Those are some of the moves I learned.
I have lots of thoughts about the dance unit. I don’t like dance as much as the next guy but I understand how girls would love dance. You get prettied up and get to be graceful on stage. There are so many costumes which girls love since most of girls love to get dressed up. I did enjoy some of the hip-hop. I would understand how some guys like hip-hop and break dancing. It looks pretty fun to learn. I also understand how some people want to become dancers. They could be in the entertaining world. For example you could dance for Cirque du Soleil. Also some people would say dance is a way to express yourself in a way that’s graceful. When it comes down to it I could see why people like dance. Dance is just not me.
Nutrition is a big aspect in dance. For dance or any sport you need lots of energy. It’s good to follow the Canada Food Guide. Protein is a great source of energy. But it’s not always easy finding a snack with protein in it. A great breakfast for a dancer would be eggs with...
