Sequence, fur, tassels, jewels, and vibrant colors…that’s right Dancing with the Stars is back for its 10th season with extravagant outfits and even more extreme celebrities’. For five years now, Dancing with the Stars has been the home of 104 celebrities’ that have amazed, surprised, humored, or even emotionally reached out to its million of viewers. On March 22, 2010; the season premiere introduced this year’s contestants and what is in store for the remaining episodes. Before any of the performances even took place; it was obvious that between the pop group PCD’s lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, 2010 Olympic gold figure skating medalist Evan Lysacek, and legendary eighty year old astronaut Buzz Aldrin it was going to be an exhilarating and diverse show. As the line up began, there was an array of high kicks, twirls, and mistakes; that’s showed that this exciting and entertaining show still kept its edge.
First to hit the stage was NFL star Chad Ochocinco, whose performance surprised the judges. Having no previous dance experience “except in the end zone,” did not stop from letting his fun and flirty personality shine throughout his performance. Another celebrity to surprise the judges was legend Buzz Aldrin. This 80 year old astronaut was the first to step on the moon; it’s clear that he has no limits to reach his goals and enjoys taking on this new and exciting challenge. For his age he was able to give the most he could and his performance included certain moments that couldn’t leave you without smiling. Then there was a group of celebrities that fall within a category of being very talented and doing a great job, but a clear need for improvement. The once charmed one and 90210 first Shannon Doherty seemed to have casted a spell on the judges through her grace and poise, but it was clear that there was still a great deal of improvement for her.
