Position: DBA Aspirant at the University of Liverpool
MOTIVATIONAL STATEMENT

Seven years have passed since I was enrolled as an MBA student and I continue to reap the life-long rewards of having made that decision. I look back with pride at the progression of my career from that of an entry level RF Engineer, to my present position of RAN Implementation Manager, involving the execution of multi-million dollar Telecom Contracts for a Multinational Company. With over sixteen years of Telecom’s experience including six in Upper Management, I offer my employer – Ericsson, a unique set of skills, which not only helps ensure business success today but also sets the stage with visionary thoughts and attitude for continued success tomorrow.
Ericsson operates in a fast paced technologically changing world, where clients expect more and pay less and ‘copycat’ products emerge almost daily, and our major competitors from the east, such as Huawei and ZTE continue to exert pressure by producing equipment with significantly less manufacturing costs. As a result of the aforementioned, Ericsson as a company is constantly forced to reinvent itself and this can only be realized through employees who share the same vision and have the required skill set to achieve it.
How can I as a leader maximize my entrepreneurial spirit towards identifying creative solutions for our customer requirements? And how can I more specifically, as an Implementation Manager, improve Ericsson’s Delivery Performance with key clients? Various means were sought to answer the questions posed and through extensive reading I discovered that the most actionable solution would be to acquire the skill set provided through a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) programme that would also allow me to travel and work.
