Dealing with difficult people is like a thunder storm that is rolling in, they could be light to moderate and are likely to start and stop suddenly. You can almost predict when they will occur by the rapid changes in the sky’s appearance as the storm approaches so when the conflict starts to arise you will be able to see it especially if it was approached the wrong way. I like to think that when it comes to dealing with difficult people that I can let the comments that they make or what they do just roll of my back but this is honestly a delusion because we as human beings have trouble with letting things go or ignoring what is being said to us so I’m going to explore different ways to deal with difficult people. When I took Human Relations last quarter I discovered that the most difficult people that we deal with are the people that we actually learn something from them and that we will grow from the experience of having to deal with them and successfully have done it. I realized when I was reading this Scholarly Journal that when you are dealing with conflict of difficult people that they care very little about us. Their focus is on themselves and what they can get out of it, unless we get in between what they are after or they need us to get what they want. A good example of this would be: In our book Conflict Resolution, chapter 2, case problem 5. Joe says he wonders if Kim Khan is trying to undermine his efforts because his boss Jim Talent tells him he can learn a lot from Khan.
