My Definition of Skateboarding
When someone tells me to define skateboarding, I tell them that it is a way to separate me from this world of rules and limitations. Skateboarding also alters my perception to the point where I think that nothing else exists but me, the skateboard, and the pavement. Finally, skateboarding is a passion. Skateboarding is my escape from reality. It is a mind-altering drug that I am addicted to but causes me no harm. It is a force that relieves me from all my grievances. Skateboarding is my friend, and skateboarding is my life.
Skateboarding is a safehaven for all wories, A safe place where I can find peace. It may be inside you when you are quiet of mind or at home reading a book. But for me, my safe haven is when I am skateboarding. It seperates me from everyone else. Rules and limitations do not apply when I am skating. No one can tell me what I can and can’t do. As long as you have the mindset, skateboarding has no rules or guidelines that you are required to follow. Anything is possible. Everthing is possible.
Skateboarding is a satisfying, blissful release. You do not need illegal drugs, alcohol, or even faith in something that might not work or even be real. All you need is a place to skate, a skateboard, and motivation and all your worries and cares will disappear. It cheers me up in the worst of times. It can even make me happier when I think that I couldn’t be any better. Skateboarding is there for me through it all.
Skateboarding is a passion. This passion enlightens me. It makes me happy when I expand that passion by learning new tricks and skating with new skaters. There is nothing I love more than skateboarding. Skating is not only my life, but it is also my destiny. It is the light in the darkness that makes it bearable to live. Skateboarding is the kind stranger that guides me back to where you belong. Skateboarding is passion.
