Demon from My Past
Imagine finding a little girl curled up in the fetal position in between two video games that you would find in a dark, musty bowling alley, sobbing. You go to put your arms around her to console her, she mumbles in a quiet voice, “Why me?” You do not understand what has taken place. She then says, “What just happened to me?” As you try to console her and find out what is wrong she begins to tell you about the incident. Her feelings of self - worthlessness, her innocence being taken away, and the fear of telling her parents is what a child feels after she has been molested by a family friend.
This was a family fun night that turned into hell. I was around the age of 13, when my life changed forever. I was having fun running around the bowling alley with my best friend, Colene, which I did every Saturday night. I was standing beside my brother and Colene watching them play a video game when my terror started. We were all laughing and having a good time. Al, a family friend, walked up behind me and took me by surprise grabbing my butt. I instantly gasped and was shocked that he touched me like that. Then he began rubbing and grabbing my butt then reaching around rubbing and grabbing my breasts. My eyes widened and my pulse quickened as his slow torture continued on my body. As I stood there hidden from the sight of my parents, I was frozen in fear unable to speak and move. As I felt the tears welling in my eyes his torture stopped and he leaned down kissed my cheek and whispered “Sshhh, don’t tell anyone. This is our little secret.
Later that night after semi regaining my composure, I was eating and laughing trying to forget what had happened. As I started to forget the memory Al began to come around again. All the memories of what happened came flooding back, my pulse quickened and labored breathing started, as my tears began to well in my eyes.
