Developing a Marketing Plan

Developing a Marketing Plan

Executive Summary:

Although an overwhelming majority of students, faculty, and staff all express positive attitude toward having their own business, but most have not been successful, this is because most do not have a marketing plan. Seun Okin biscuit (the company) is a Nigerian cookie; this cookie start up business will be dedicated to serving the university of Maryland eastern shore students and faculty. I came to a conclusion of selling this Nigerian cookie (Okin biscuit) on UMES campus, for my campus cookie business to be successful; I decided to develop a marketing plan. My objective is to make Okin biscuit popular among the students in this school and to sell a minimum of 100 packs per day by the end of each semester. This product is aimed at students in the university and since this is a foreign cookie, it would be a new taste and new product to a new market place. Okin biscuit can be served any time during the day, before or after a meal. My expectation for this product is to have a high demand because this is aimed at anybody who is interested in trying something new products. I am hoping it would have a demand of 25-50 packs per day within the first semester and after the first semester, hoping for a demand of 45 † 65 packs per day. My marketing budget for the first year is $1250

Opportunity Analysis:
I as a person, growing up eating sugary food, came to a conclusion of creating an opportunity on campus to sell Nigerian Okin biscuit. After surveying students and faculty on UMES campus, my results show that most student and faculty are interested in trying my new Okin biscuit on campus. I am hoping to sell the Okin biscuit after every meal possible on campus, As far as it being a great product, it is definite because, it is made out of real natural wheat and flour, not a lot of sugar, and it only contains about 350 calories per pack.
