First main point: Types of Diabetes
Type 1 Diabetes
This type of Diabetes is diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously know as juvenile diabetes.
In this type of diabetes the body does not produce insulin.
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes was formally called adult-onset diabetes because it usually develops in people over the age of 40 yrs old. However, individual can develop type 2 at any age.
This is the most common type of diabetes.
Gestational Diabetes
Gestational Diabetes start when your body is not able to make and use all the insulin it needs for pregnancy.
It usually detected around the 28 week of pregnancy.
Babies born to a mother with gestational diabetes tend to have larger babies with weighs over 9 pounds.
It usually disappears after the infant is born.
