My Diet Analysis: Chapter 11

Summary: My diet log and analysis consisted of 3 days during the week beginning on August 27, 2012. I did not pick consecutive days because I had a root canal and could not eat lunch that day and was not very hungry at dinner. So I chose 3 days that were a good sample of what I normally eat on a day to day basis. I noticed that in terms of variety, I do not deviate much for breakfast and lunch. I consistently eat yogurt for breakfast and a turkey sandwich for dinner. This is a great exercise and I did not realize how calories add up so fast. Due to my job where I sit at a computer all day and with the demands of taking two classes, I was classified as “Low Activity”. Therefore, my daily caloric needs for my gender, height, weight, and activity level came out to 1,873.81 total calories. According to the My Diet Analysis report, my actual average intake over the three day period was 1,359.10 calories. This means that I can afford to eat up to a maximum of 515 calories per day to meet my needs without gaining weight. For the major nutrient groups listed below, the following breakdown in calories was reported. The answers to the three questions below provide a more detailed breakdown of DRI values.
