Discipline
In today’s society we have more violence, more disrespect for others and just a general indifference towards others. Be it one person towards another, one generation against the former or latter generation or the one sex domestic violating the other sex. From one point of view, the general thought is that it begins with the younger generation saying “They have no discipline or respect”, and on the flipside we have the younger generation pointing fingers at the older generation, voicing “It takes respect to gain respect.” Who is right or wrong? Is one generation or person more to blame than the other? I don’t claim to be an expert in the fields of parenting or counseling, but the following is my take on some of the different styles of disciplining.
When a person over disciplines or in the case of the opposite, potential crises arise that need to be addressed on all levels of society. Whether, it is in direct association of one’s own personal daily life, with their business associates or in dealing with their offspring. And in all of these, how one approaches them can be determined by their own lack of or development in their own discipline. In regards to this, I will focus on the stage of life where discipline starts or rather where we as a society base our premise on where discipline begins and that is in the home, starting with adolescence. I will refer to this as the practice of discipline because no matter how you think you have it down, you will cross paths with a situation that will force you to rethink your way of thinking.
The following are my two forms of discipline then each has its own division within itself. In this first form, we have a man who wields all power and none can usurp his power or question his authority.
