Diversity is more that just what color your skin is, Diversity is something that presents itself in many different ways. Differences in age, race, ethnic origin, culture, physical abilities, religion and sexual orientation are just some possible contributors to diversity. Diversity is valued today because it should be valued because the various differences are meant to complement each other and come up with better results in the long run. Diversity also provides options in life.
What is ethnocentrism? In what ways can ethnocentrism be detrimental to a society?
Ethnocentrism is the belief of superiority is one's personal ethnic group, but it can also develop from racial or religious differences. It can be very detrimental to the society, I mean look at the ku klux klan for instance it was based on race but the whole reason behind it was that they believed they were a superior race. When someone feels the power of superiority enough to kill it is not good for the society, if everyone one has that thought process then it is going to turn into an epidemic and qute honestly everyone might end up dead because that will be the end of the world.

The difference is that one is coming and the other is going. Yes, it's motion, but direction is critical in the two. Because if you confuse the two then it could more then likely lead to not so good actions.
