I thought an example of the document assignment might be helpful. First, remember what a document is. These are the sources written from the time period that we use to reconstruct the past. They include but are not limited to law codes, letters, government documents, poetry, census records, newspapers (modern day), religious texts etc. I want you to read and analyze the assigned documents to help shed light on the era. Remember that in the ancient word in particular, only things deemed very important are written down. So, why are these written and what does it tell us about the people that wrote them.

Example: The Great flood, p. 17/ Nile river and Pharoah p. 18
