Dominique Francon and Howard Roark

Dominique Francon and Howard Roark

Dominique Francon: She is a beautiful blonde, tall and thin, what is not to love? She wooed Howard Roark with her beauty and her strong spirit but destroying him in the architectural society was one of her main goals.
Howard Roark: He achieved success after starting from the lowest point. Overcoming many obstacles and pursuing his dream resulted in him becoming a well known architect who did things for his own satisfaction. This led him to isolation toward the socialites of New York City. Little did he know many were out to destroy him and his career.

Dominique Francon and Howard Roark met in the rock quarry while Roark was working construction. Dominique was staying a couple miles down the road at her father’s estate. An immediate attraction developed between them. But Dominique had no idea the red haired man she fell in love with was indeed, Howard Roark.
Dominique sees that people depend on her to create, although she doesn’t want to give people what they want. Her expression of hate for the world was depriving it from everything it needs most. She also realizes Howard Roark has that power as well and the world can use it. Dominique tries to stop him because she doesn’t want to see him become successful.
Dominique and Roark are similar in many ways. They do things for themselves, not for the benefit of others. They were not only conceded but very on the edge. To say the least Dominique didn't want to stand back and see the love of her life be destroyed so she set out to do it subtley.
