EFFECTIVELY MANAGE A MOBILE DATABASE SYSTEM FOR THE VEHICLE PART ORDERING DATABASE.
PROJECT ESSAY

Effectively manage a mobile database system for the vehicle part ordering database.
Abstract
Mobile is the most desirable platform these days. Vehicle parts ordering database has a need to reach
global users with international data. Mobile databases can be deployed in mobile devices to utilize this
architecture. Mobile devices have lots of limitations in both hardware and software. There are also
challenges with connection management and host configuration and transfer mechanism.
This report includes literature review about the major issues and challenges of mobile DBMS, research
will also go over the issues of low storage, processing power and inconsistent internet connection in
detail. The major concerns of MDBMS with data consistency, security, processing, and data transfer
issues will be examined and suggest better tools and methods to implement a sustainable database
system in the mobile platform.

Introduction
When we think of database, we think of centralized secure server in a data center with large storage
capacity and constant internet access. This trend is changing with the mobile revolution. Majority of the
people in the world are using laptops, smartphones and tablets to stay connected to the internet at all
time. The number of mobile applications utilizing distributed databases is growing exponentially with
the raise of mobile platforms.
Mobile databases are minified distributed databases in mobile hosts that are physically separated from
the host database but able to connect then sync data over data or wireless network. Offline capability
and spatial mobility are the biggest aspects of mobile databases. The main limitations include low disk...
