Stress is "a state of affair involving demand on physical or mental energy". Stress is caused from a challenging situation and the brain prepares the body for the fight or flight response by releasing stress hormones, such as cortisone and adrenaline. These hormones raise the blood pressure and the body prepares to react to the situation. Everyone suffers from stress at some point in their day. In moderate does, it’s necessary in our life. Stress has both negative and positive effects on our bodies.
There are definitely more negative effects caused by stress than there are positive. Chronic stress can be the result a long-term life condition, such as a difficult job situation or living with a chronic disease. In people who have higher levels of chronic stress, the stress response lasts longer. Over time, chronic stress can have many negative effects on the human body. It harms the immune system by becoming more vulnerable to illnesses, from colds and minor infections to major diseases. If you are already ill stress makes it worse. Stress can also be responsible for high blood pressure, abnormal heartbeat (arrhythmia), problems with blood clotting, and hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). It is also linked to coronary artery disease, heart attack, and heart failure. individuals who are stressed often have neck, shoulder, and lower back pain caused by constant tension in the muscles because of stress. Stress can also cause gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. Its linked to painful menstrual periods, decreased fertility, and erection problems aswell. Skin problems such as acne can also become worse from stress.
Most people only associate stress with negitive effects but there are a few positive ones aswell. The positive effects of stress usually come from lower levels of stress. Stress can help people get motivated to make nessacary changes in their lives. If someone is stressed out before a big test...
