When people think about where we are at in the world today they never stop to consider all the great people in history who helped us get here, or even how much certain things in society haven't changed at all. Take for example Albert Einstein, without his theories and discovered facts we probably wouldn't have come this far in a lot of things, yet he was picked on and made fun of for being different.
When most people think of Albert Einstein usually the thoughts that come to mind are things like "genius, bad hair, and always out to prove his point." When in fact he lived just as most other people did during that day and age. As a matter of fact, as a child he was quite the late bloomer. He had many problems with learning how to do simple life tasks like talking. He finally began using words shortly after the age of 2, even the family maid called him “der depperte” meaning the dopey one, others in his family labeled him as “almost backwards.” His own sister once said that he had such difficulties with his language skills that some feared he would never learn.
Along with his slow development, he was also very rebellious toward authority. This little fact even led one school master to send him packing and declare that he would never amount to much. Who knew he would soon have been proven very wrong.
Combine all these traits from his younger days and he was a target for school kids everywhere to make fun of. Even in today’s society many children would pick on another for always mumbling under their breath before they spoke the words out loud so they didn’t get anything wrong. Some adults back then and today would even go as far as saying the child has some form of developmental retardation. In fact, because of his slow language development as a child, he never spoke much to anyone, leaving room for his curious mind to wander through space and time.
