Daniel Flores Credit Recovery Per. 0 Mrs. Frost Self Reliance Final For the first quote I selected a quote from page 1130. The quote reads “Do your thing and I shall know you”. What this quote means to me is that people’s actions often reflect on what type of person they really are. If someone acts a certain way it means that they are that type of a person. The way that this quote relates to my life is because I was brought up with the thought of making a good first impression. My parents always told us to be at our best behavior when people that we did not know came to our house or when we went to other people’s houses. What my parents basically taught us is to behave correctly and then later on when you feel used to the certain person, then maybe you can act differently or things like that. The second quote that I chose is from page 1137. The quote reads “Live no longer to the expectation of those deceived and deceiving people with whom we converse”. What I think this quote means is that do not live your life how another person wants you to. For example live your life the way you want to, not the way your mom or your friends want you to. One a s an adult is in charge of their own lives. If one makes a mistake then people should let them learn from them. I was brought up just as any other kid I believe. My parents would always tell me to be myself. They would tell me to live my life the way I wanted to. Always making sure I was on the right path. If I made a mistake somewhere, they would come and let me know. They never told me what to study or what to be when I grow up. The third quote comes from the page 1138. It says “We are afraid of truth, afraid of fortune, afraid of death, and afraid of each other”. This quote basically says that people are terrified of everything. The truth is that we are. People these days are either reading the newspaper or watching the news and hearing about killings and shootings that were committed around their neighborhoods...
