Personal Essay

At this moment in the election I am undecided on who to vote for. I believe each candidate has good ideas. I think it’s time for a change in America; we need someone who will take power and give power to the people. I believe that this is going to be a memorable election, because we will either have an African American President or a female VP in office. I think Obama and McCain both make good points in many areas of their issues; most importantly they want the people to have more power and more choice.
I believe that Obama is our generations JFK, in the fact that he has reached out to the young people and we have accepted him as our voice in government. Obama has given us a chance to get involved in the election and get us interested in politics, no other candidate has the popularity that Obama has with the youth of America. As a young person myself, I feel that Obama is a good role model and a great advisor to our needs, he wants to get us involved in politics. I think he has good views on healthcare, giving people the right to choose quality healthcare is important because it gives us the choice at what coverage we want and at what rate we want. Obama wants out of War and I think that, that is the best, it’s time to leave. Our men and women are fighting someone else’s battle and dying for a worthless cause. I believe it is the president’s job to make sure America is free from terrorist attacks. It is their job as Commander and Chief to protect society and the land we live in. Obama makes good statements on some of the major issues following this election. I think he is a great choice for president and I am ready for a change but I don’t know if America is ready for an African American president.
I think that John McCain has proven his loyalty to this country by his time served in Vietnam, one of the many wars I believe we should not have been in. He gave his life for his country, and I think he knows what it takes to get...
