The world has seen many great men, but has not educated itself with the admirable women found in history. Elizabeth I, although the most commonly known, has not only contributed to the many modernized achievements in history, but also created the threshold for science and art. Throughout history, the role for the female population has been contained, yet Elizabeth I stood out and ruled a country with determination, intelligence, and admiration than any other.
During her reign, Queen Elizabeth I brought England to new heights and implemented peace and prosperity. Elizabeth I brought England a time period that seemed almost bizarre, as stated, “No one in 1558, anymore then in 1485, would have predicted that- despite the social discord, political floundering and international humiliation of the past decade- the kingdom again stood on the threshold of an extraordinary reign”(“United Kingdom”). As eccentric and illogical as it may have been, Elizabeth I guided England to peace and growth. The Queen had accomplished the impossible yet was still able to exemplify true character which enabled for the country to stay at ease. With the flourishing economy there was “an unprecedented growth in English literature and the rise of the professional theater in London” (Gale Virtual). Due to the extensive changes within the English communities, both of the lifestyles and the citizens outlooks had progressively advanced towards a modernized age filled with science and art. Though the Elizabethan era was remarkable, it has to be noted that Queen Elizabeth had only been able to bring peace because “she had survived the palace revolutions of her brothers reign and the Roman Catholicism of her sister’s; she was the product of a fine Renaissance education, and she had learned the need for strong secular leadership devoid of religious bigotry” (“United Kingdom”).
