Emma is about a girl who is young, smart, rich, beautiful and lives with her father at their big estate. Emma's mother died when Emma was five and so her father finds Miss Taylor to live with them at Hartfield (the house where Emma and her father live) and look after his two daughters. Miss Taylor is Emma's friend but everything changes when Miss Taylor gets married.
Emma's father insist that she must get married, but Emma laughs and tells that she will never marry. She instead amuses herself by trying to arrange marriages between her friends and neighbours. One day, Emma thinks that she noticed that Mr. Elton was in love with her friend Harriet. She tells it Harriet and so Harriet begins to like Mr. Elton. When Emma was going home with Mr. Elton, he tells that he doesn't like Harriet and never thought about her before and likes Emma. She stops to talk to Mr. Elton. She feels guilty when she is at home and she tells Harriet what happened. After that, Harriet gets ill and depressed.
Mr. Elton goes to Bath for a vacation. He is married to a girl when he comes back. Her name is Augusta and she is too proud, rich that's why nobody likes her at the estate. There is only one person who likes Augusta is Jane Fairfax.
Jane Fairfax was a rich orphan and was Emma's cousin. Emma grows very tired of Mrs. Elton because she always compliments herself and the only other thing is Jane what she talks. Mrs. Elton realizes that Emma doesn't like her and when she gets that Emma was the one who caused Harriet to like her husband. That's why she hates Emma and Harriet even more. Harriet gets better in this time and Emma tells her Mr. Elton got married only for money. Then, Harriet tells Emma that she likes someone else. Emma thought that it was Frank Churchill, but actually it was John Knightely. Emma feels terrible because she finds aout that Frank was engaged to Jane Fairfox for a long time ago and they were planing to get married. She feels bad because she still thought...
