Kudler Fine Foods is a local upscale specialty food store located in the San Diego, California metropolitan area. The company has three locations; La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas. Each store has ample square footage of retail space located in a fashionable shopping center. The stores are stocked with the very best domestic and imported foodstuffs and divided into different departments. Kathy Kudler, the owner and operator of Kudler, is in the process of expanding into other parts of California by opening a new store in Carlsbad, California. The store will initially have three sales associates, one assistant manager, and one general manager who reports to the VP of sales. With this new sales team Kathy will be trying a new sales team idea, where the three sales associates and two managers work together as a team unit to win bigger commissions. Each store consists of the following departments: Bakery, Meats, Produce, and Cheese and Wine. Each department will include a sales associate who is trained to answer and questions regarding their particular department, but who also possesses a basic knowledge of other departments.
The restructured method of operating the new store will require a moderate knowledge of the job counter as well as sale skills. The sales associate must have baking/cooking knowledge, posses the skills to make meal recommendations, and have a working knowledge of other foods offered in the store to make better meal recommendations; the better the employee recommendations the better the commission. Other basic qualifications include:
