What is human resource management?
Human resource management is a department within a company. Human resource management is an assembly of professionals who oversee the hiring, firing, recruitment and training of employees. Human resource management manages employees and their performance. The human resource management team can consist of many individuals depending on the size of the company. Generally a company will have a human resource manager take charge of employee disputes and how people are managed. Human resource managers are in charge of figuring out the compensation of incoming employees, benefits, safety and ensuring employees receive continuous on the job training.
What are the functions of human resource management?
There are many functions to a human resource managers. Human resource managers essentially take care of the employees at the company. Human resource management is there to support employees and to offer guidance.
One of the primary functions of human resource management is the staffing function. Before hiring staff for a company a human resource manager must make a plan to explain the need of hiring additional employees. Hiring a new employee must be profitable for a company. When looking for a new employee a human resource management must put into detail the qualification needed from an individual who is looking to apply. The detail in qualification for a prospective employee if for the employee to meet certain requirements and to attract the appropriate candidate. Once applicants apply and human resource managers verify the desired qualifications are met human resource managers can then start to select applicants to move forward in the hiring process.
