When I read of Mice and Men, I think something. So I write about the Lennie and George`s relationship. Even if I do not have a book, I know about the story.
This story`s background is 1930s in U.S.A. In this time, the U.S.A`s economy became rapidity down. Many poor people became poorer, many rich people got poor. This story is about the poor farmer. In 1930s, the world is not very well. The reason of that Second World War started in 1930s. Not only in U.S.A but also E.U. countries got big terrible.
This novel`s character Lennie and George find a work, they walked around the farm. In last, they work it in Soledad. George`s body is small, but he is smart. Lennie wanted to have his owner farm. His body is very strong, but his intellectual is low. So Lennie supports to George. Both people are lonely people, they have a dream (make a money and then have owner farm) and they believed each other.
But Lennie like to touch small and many wool things. Of course, like a children action make a tragedy by his ability. But Lennie does not know about the intellectual low. He wants to touch his favorite thing. This condition, George tells Lennie about situation even if have dangerous.
George and Lennie meet some people, after they find a job. Candy, Carson, Slim, Crooks, and Curley. Curley is a bad man. Expect Curley, everyone is a lonely people. But they do not want to make a friend. When they finish their work, they go to their room. They do not spend a free time for everyone. This farm looks like a lonely place. So in this place, George and Lennie`s friendship and dream can mix with lonely.
This farm is not only lonely but also impersonals symbol. George and other farmer go to other place; the farm only has Lennie, Crooks and Candy. The problem`s Curley wife comes to her son. Farmers said that she is a bad girl called ‘tart’, she also the lonely and estrangement people. Only stress bravery place in this farm,...
