Blacks and Whites
America is a country built on having the freedom to be different. It’s a land of many races, religions, ethnicity’s, and belief’s. Through all that there seems to be unrest between blacks and whites. All though we live in a free country where all have equal rights some people of minority races feel there are not treated equally. Also there are differences and similarities between black and white attitudes towards the topic of equality.Most blacks feel they are not treated equally in the general community and also claim to not be equally considered for jobs, have more trouble with housing then whites, and are given lower standards of education.


All this carries over to standard of living and income. Even socially in situations like shopping, eating out, interaction with police, and in a working atmosphere, blacks feel the treatment they got because of race was evident. While eating out 32% and when dealing with the police 34% felt they had been wronged because of their race. When out shopping almost half of all black males interviewed felt they had been unfairly discriminated against. Also it is said that whites are even prejudice against other whites in their community, with numbers similar to the black white relations figures. While on average the numbers for black females were about half as much as the males. Although the abundance of white people claim to have very little or no prejudice against blacks, blacks feel that is incorrect and that whites underestimate their attitudes towards blacks. The most interesting numbers are the 71% of blacks that feel they have opportunity for a good education, but because they feel there isn't equality only 46% believe they have good job opportunities in the future. 54% of whites and 58% of blacks say there will always be a problem between the two groups. he same time most whites no less then 79% and no more then 93% feel a black person in America can get any job and have satisfactory housing and...
