Racism
Racism refers to the idea that some races of people are inferior to other races. People who believe in the idea have some special attitudes or behaviors towards people of some races when confronting them. Many man-made disasters in the history is related to racism, such as the holocaust that Nazi German killed about 6 million Jews during World War II and America Civil War to free the black people from being slaves in the United States. Racism has been a big issue in the world for a long time. Many people have fought for eliminating it, such as Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela in the South African and Martin Luther King in the United States. Over years of suffering, struggling, and fighting, the issue of racism has been improved a lot but it still exists and needs more changes.
The story of a small family in Life Is Beautiful shows the suffering of Jewish victims during World War II. Nazi believes Jews is the inferior race and wants to clear the Jews out of German by killing them. A large number of Jewish people have been killed in the Nazi concentration camp. The movie Life Is Beautiful tells a story of how a Jewish father protects his young and innocent child in the Nazi concentration camp where the Jewish adults have to work hard and live under risk of death. The Jewish father hides the dangerous situation from the child and tells the child that they are playing a game when he has to suffer from hard work and danger. The prize of the winner is the tank. Finally the child happily sees the tank and survives from Nazi without knowing that his father has died. The movie tells the father and son story in the concentration camp in details and greatly impresses the audience. The movie provides an opportunity to experience the situation by watching the movie. The miserable fate of Jews and the bad effect of racism are known and experienced by the audience through movie.
