​Ever since I was a little girl, I enjoyed dancing. I would get on top of a small wooden table and dance in front of a big mirror I had in my living room. I lip sang to songs and dressed like I was famous. I am involved in a lot of activities outside of school, like acting class, chorus, and working with children. When I’m at family parties, I get together with my younger cousins and we use my dad’s recoding camera and we pretend to be news reporters or make up plays for the family to watch. We also make small dance shows and sometimes sing. I’m usually the one who entertains my younger cousin’s period. I put them to draw, color, paint; we play games and tell stories. I’ve preformed in mostly all the schools talent shows. I love hearing the crowd clap when I’m up on stage. It makes me feel like I did a good job and that everyone enjoyed it.
​I really enjoy working with children because they look up to me. I’ve been involved in many programs in which I work with children. Last year I was in R.O.P. (Infant Care) and I volunteered at a small pre-school called rainbow promise. Now I take care of children at my church during bible studies. I make activities and games for them. To me they are what “we” adolescents should be, they are active, honest, love participating, friendly, helpful, and curious. Children don’t care about race, age, or color. They look at e everyone the same. They look up to the teenagers and their parents because they’re their example and want to be like them. I think that’s why children play mom and dad and pretend they have a car and a house. They love using their imaginations. They usually just do anything the older ones do. Children are a big part of my life.
