In academic setting, plagiarism should be punish by an automatic failing grade “do you agree or disagree explain your reason(minimum 200 words) Riding on someone’s coattail google has made it reseach work,assignment,project very easy.everybody wants quick work,students don’t like reading again ,when they have any assignment they just log on to the internete and ask mr google for the answer ,copy and paste it thereby resulting to plagirasim . what is plagirasim, according to oxford dictionary “plagirasim refers to the act of copying another persons ideas,words or work and presenting it as if you are the owner “trying to take credit for another persons work ,in other words riding on someone’s coattail .In my own opinion I think anyone who engage in such act should be punished by an automatic fail grades due to this reasons First of all plagiarism makes student to lose their thinking ability and idea generating capabilities. students these days myself included don’t want anything that will gives us academic stress. for example when we are given assignment we don’t want to think with our brain to come out with solution to the problem we prefer going to the internet to type the question on Google (because goggle is ever ready to provide the answers for us.)why should we then labor ourself,forgetting that those answers you got from Google or from other sources (e.g. journals) were written by someone’s else, process whereby you copy the answers and present it to your instructor as if you were the one who actually carried out the research has made you to involve in plagiarism. In addition plagiarism makes students to be lazy. ,some student are always procrastinating each time they are given assignment, they put off the homework until the last minute of submission, and in desperation to submit the assignment they resort to plagiarism hoping that the instructor will not find out.
