Introduction:
The topic assigned to us for essay writing from our esteemed teacher is “role of leadership in organizational success”. Purpose of this essay is to improve our writing skills as well as to make understanding of leadership importance in an organizational effectiveness. This essay will help us in future to perform well in our workplace, by understanding the styles and functions of leadership .A leader is the only personality in an organizational setting who can lift the organization to the top or can also cause decline to the organization. Leadership popular topic in every organization, many researchers have contributed to leadership but everyone has their own perceptions about leadership. In this assignment we had tried to explain leadership effectiveness in organization with the help of some theories and leadership styles.
Leadership:
According to Ivancevch Matteson, and Olekalns (1997) leadership is influence in an organizational setting which has positive impact on organizational outcome and challenging goals. They argue that the impact of leaders in organizational success can be measured in terms of improved performance, goal attainment, individual growth and development. Leaders have powerful effect on performance of any organization and consequently they build a positive image of that organization. (Ivancevch, Matteson, & Olekalns, 1997).
Hearn, Southey and Vecchio (n.d) defines leadership as an organizational process in which a person makes other organizational members work according to his/her desire.
