If you are ever in the mood for a good comedy, you should see “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” This movie is about a relationship between Joel, played by Jim Carrey, and Clementine who have very different personalities. Joel is very quietand reserved while Clementine is very eccentric and outgoing. Most of the plot takes place inside Joel’s mind while his memories of his recent ex Clementine are being erased. As Joel’s memories of Clementine, played by Kate Winslet, are being erased, Joel realized that he really does not want to forget about her, and tries to fight the memory loss process. Throughout the movie, a feeling of anxious hope and longing takes place. The acting is great between Carrey and Winslet, and they really portray the characters and their personalities through their mannerisms. The best part of the movie is that it really leaves the viewer thinking that their experiences make them who they are, no matter how bad they might be or how badly they would like to forget them. Overall, because of the films well-written plot, acting, emotions evoked, and message it left the viewer, makes it a great movie. The only downside to this film is that it is a little hard to follow the storyline if you don’t give it full attentionto it and minute details. Although this film is not as emotional as other romantic comedies, the message it leaves the viewer makes up for that. If you enjoy romantic comedies this will definitely end up being one of your top favorites in that category.
