The issue of abortion has been highly debated issue over the years and still is the most controversial. Abortion poses a moral, social, and medical dilemma which rouses emotional responses on the subject. Now a new issue has raised the termination of newborn infants, a practice known as after birth abortion. Journal of Medical Ethics released an article by Alberto Giubilini with Monash University in Melbourne and Francesca Minerva, "After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?" (Alberto Giubilini, 2012). Giubilini and Minerva make their case given that abortion is legal, then the termination of the baby after birth should be legal as well. The argument is based on the two forms of abortion is practically the same notion from an ethical perspective.
In this paper will cover after birth abortion issue and its impact on the population. The arguments based on the article, "After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?" and well as various others articles related on the issue for proposed solution. Look over the ethical and legal issues revolved around the theory of after birth abortion. Lastly, explain what should be done in a managerial responsibility given to this particular issue.
The article, "why should the baby live?" discusses about newborns are not "actual persons" and do not have a "moral right to life" (Giubilini, 2012). The authors, Giubilini and Minerva, claim that it should be permissible on the grounds the baby can be an insufferable burden on the family especially if found disabled. Even a non-disabled baby can cause hardships on the family and society as a whole that economically pays for the care of the child. However, the very notion to terminate a baby's life after birth has caused a negative impact and uproar among the general populace.
