Dilemma: Should the students who are caught illegally copying MP3s be punished? How should these students be punished?
1. There are several options that might be used to respond to Case 5’s ethical issues. (1)Those students who are found to be caught with prior warning could face expulsion. (2) The RIAA could fine the students who are involved. (3) The University could ban the student’s use of their computers and network.
2. The best way to deal with this issue is for the RIAA to fine students who are found guilty of illegally downloading. If it occurs again, the students fine should be doubled.
