Evolution of the American Dream
Apple Inc. once said, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” When thinking of America as a whole nation, people can see how the country has changed tremendously over time whether it has been for the better or worse. In addition, the American dream has also changed right along with the people themselves. As people started to see life in a different way than just the norm, the American dream started to become more and more diverse in many ways as well. As some people may think that certain groups of people are crazy for looking at life in a different way and fighting for what makes them happy, other people may see these groups of people as their heroes. In this paper, it shows how the American became less unified over time, people started to realize their individual dreams, and how sometimes it is the crazy people that end up changing the world.
When looking back at America in history, it is obvious to see the significant changes that the country has gone through. After the Great Depression, the American population as a whole was quite unified in respect to their dreams. As they made their way through their lives, most people saw the American dream as acquiring a great job and supporting a healthy family. In many cases, the mother would stay at home and take care of the family while the father would go off to work. This is majorly responsible for the Baby Boom that started in the 1940’s. With this in mind, people did not have these thoughts forever. In so many aspects of life, people have eventually evolved and become stronger people in the ways they choose. For instance, trends are a huge part of why America has evolved over time. With trends, people love them for the fact that they have something brand new to enjoy that nobody in the past has enjoyed before.
